What we’re reading April 2026

24 April 2026

Our team read a huge amount of books each year, both new and old. Here is what we're reading at the moment.

Following on from seeing the film, starring Ryan Gosling, Hazel and Harriet L have both started reading ‘Project Hail Mary’. A perfect blend of humour and friendship, a truly moving novel about the power of humanity.

Harriet L has also been reading ‘The Others’ which has been longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction this year. Set in 1989 we follow three people as Berlin teeters on the verge of changing history forever.

Lyndsey, our events manager, has been reading this debut set to be released in May. A page-turning and provocative debut full of political scandal with deliciously dark humour.

Lena and Ollie have both been reading this new novel from shop favourite Kiran Millwood Hargrave. Set across the lives of two women, this is a heartbreaking love story for the ages.

Harriet H has been delving into classics with ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’. A perfect novel for gray days filled with mystery and intrigue. This is a must read book for everyone.

James has been reading James Cahill’s new novel ‘The Violet Hour’. A story of deception, power play and longing, which exposes the unsettling underbelly of the art world,

Finally Ollie has just finished reading ‘Yesteryear’. This debut is storming the charts and we can barely keep it in stock. A really compelling story about self-identity and what goes on behind the scenes. This is shaping up to be one of Ollie’s books of the year already.
